1976 Star Trek Trading Card 1: The U.S.S. Enterprise

The first card in the 1976 Star Trek trading card setThe U.S.S. Enterprise, is highly sought after, but isn’t as rare as you may think, based on the prices it commands. Although there is a healthy inventory out there, higher graded copies are tougher to come by. So if you see 1976 Star Trek trading card 1, grab it!

Typically, the first and last few cards in a set from this time period are beat up. You see, back then, kids used to wrap their packs up in rubber bands, which would damage the cards on the outside. If you had them in order, this would mean the rubber band is pressed against the first and last card of the set.

In the world of the not-so-distant future, Earth Science combines with human courage and hurls huge, majestic “starships” into space for purposes of exploration. The U.S.S Enterprise, commanded fist by Captain Christopher Pike and finally by James T. Kirk, was dispatched by the United Federation of Planets to “seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldy go where no many has gone before”

PSA Population and Value of 1976 Star Trek Trading Card 1

At the time of writing, there are only 13 cards that have a PSA graded population greater than 100 cards. This first Star Trek trading card is one of them, with a total population of 110. This is a lot compared to most of the other cards. Of course this isn’t surprising. More people will try to have these graded because it’s a more valuable card.

However, despite the larger population of this card, a Gem Mint 10 has not yet been discovered. Non graded cards are worth almost the same, but question of authenticity and confidence in the actual grade can slightly devalue the price.

Expect to pay around $30 to $50 for a PSA 8. You’ll pay significantly more for a PSA 9.
