So the first question I’ll ask you is what type of collector are you? Are you looking for collectible investments? Are you looking for a new hobby? Are you looking to start a collection with a loved one or child? Maybe you’re just curious about this topic? Maybe you’re trying to figure out how to sell trading cards, coins, or some other collectible item. Whatever reason brought you here, I’m glad you visited. I have no doubt that you’ll find what you’re looking for here.
What Are Collectibles
The most important thing to understand is that a collectible can be virtually anything that you have an interest in. Some people enjoy them as a hobby. Some collect them to display. Others are interested in generating income from them. Me? I’m actually a mix of it all. There’s nothing better than having fun while building wealth at the same time.
I grew up and still live in the Boston area. As a young boy, I used to collect baseball cards and so did many of my friends. I would trade my Red Sox common cards (worth about a nickel) for valuable cards that none of my friends were interested in because they were from opposing teams. I would then sell them for a profit, buy more Red Sox commons and start the process all over again. However, you can sure bet that I also had the best complete Red Sox set around! This is how I enjoyed collecting and investing at the same time.
Collectible Investments
There are thousands of choices. You may be wondering what’s most popular. Some common collectible investments include books, coins, comics, Disneyana, entertainment memorabilia, fine art, historical objects, toys, trading cards, or wine
No matter what types of collectibles you may be interested, be sure you know a little about them before you start adding them to your collection. Trust me on this, a little bit of education can go a long way and save you a lot of money. Once you know what you’re looking for, it’s time to start adding to your collection.
You may find yourself looking to sell your treasures for a variety of reasons. Most commonly, it would be to make a profit, or because you have replaced an item that is more valuable and you want to cover some of the costs by selling the replaced collectible.
In some cases, trading with others can be less expensive to improve your collection than buying and selling, so don’t be afraid to explore trading as an option to improve your collection. Feel free to reach out to me if you have an item for trade.
Explore Your Passions
I’m sure you want to start digging in to find the information you came here for, so start exploring your collectible investment interests. If you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it, say the word. I’m always interested in adding information that’s important to other collectors. I’d love the opportunity to share new topics, so just let me know.
Finally, I just want to say thanks again for visiting and enjoy whatever collectible investments or hobbies that you decide to pursue! Happy Collecting!
